Iraq Update

Paul Bremer is returning to Iraq with a new set of marching orders from the Bush administration.
The Washington Post reports this morning that the administration plans to support the creation
of a reconstituted governing body in Iraq. It’s expected to assume a large degree of control
over the country by next summer. Juan Cole is a history professor at the University of Michigan
and an expert on the Arab world. Todd Mundt asked him what went wrong with the current Iraqi
Governing Council.
