Cole at CNN's GPS and at Democracy Now!

Video of my appearance Sunday on CNN's GPS with Fareed Zakaria and a panel of other guests discussing President Obama's Cairo address to the Muslim world is embedded below. My colleagues include my teacher, Saad Eddin Ibrahim, as well as Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia, Benny Morris from Israel, Hanan Ashrawi from Ramallah, Rami Khoury from Beirut, and Iranian journalist and film maker Maziar Bahari.

And video and a transcript of my appearance with Egyptian journalist Issandr El Amrani on Amy Goodman's and Juan Gonzalez's Democracy Now is also now available on the web at this site.

As always, please consider donating to Democracy Now!. It is truly grassroots television news and depends crucially on you, the public.

Loved how you jumped in immediately after remarks from Benny Morris from Israel. Truth to power. This is what we all need to do at every streetcorner, every water cooler, every dinner party, wherever fear fever-babble spills its poison. Too many too silent too long.

Remarkably pertinent and trenchant response to Benny Morris and his smug notion of letting things play out as they are for the next 20 years. Israel is on a collision course with history if they don't get creative. Nice of Fahreed to give you that shot right then.

This is not a matter of just liking to see a smack-down. The depressing thing is that I don't think Benny's way of thinking is so rare behind closed doors in Israel; At least not amongst those with the power and adamancy to drive policy.

Oh...and nice haircut. The foppish academic look is fine, but you can see how it makes Morris, for example, look a bit out of it.
