I am quite impressed with your knowledge and understanding of the complications as well as nuances of internal Pakistani politics, and their impact, micro and macro, on Pakistan and US AfPak policy.

I was happy to tweet the link to your piece at Salon and will also mention it no Fox News/CNN and WWRL as well as other radio interviews when the topic comes up. Will be delighted to chat sometime.

Imran
http://imran.com/media/blog/

The fruits of the British occupation of India and the Partition! Interesting and pointed article.

You mention immigrants from poor Indian Muslims from provinces such as Bihar flooding into Karachi. No doubt, tho Bihar in particular seems like quite a long trip away. My understanding (perhaps misinformed) is that a good many of the Muslims in Bihar are immigrants from Bangladesh within the past generation or two, they live on the margins in what is already India's poorest state, and are thus not firmly rooted there.

(Btw, haven't the Indian political divisions been called states since shortly after independence?)
