Prof. Cole - Your first paragraph seemed a bit far fetched. I would be most interested to know your reaction to Amb.
So, we are determined to undermine the President of Afghanistan, shades of Vietnam, such is imperialism that learns no lessons and knows no limits. Afghanistan is not an American colony, though we wish to treat it as such when not helping to destroy it.

Galbraith didn't specifically mention heroin, and he could have just as easily been referring to hashish. I have no problem with marijuana usage, but certainly if one were to use it while "on the clock" at one's job, it could lead to emotional outbursts.

And to empty pantries.

The "costly errors of judgment" would not occur in a country whose inhabitants are considered fully human by the imperial overlords. The steady, wanton slaughter of Afghan and Iraqi untermenschen is not a series of mistakes. It's the ineveitable outcome of an arrogant empire electing itself to invade, bomb, and kill wherever it pleases because, being so superior to the rest of the human race, it is entitled and duty-bound to enlighten them with depleted uranium and Hellfire missiles.

After all, we govern ourselves so well, with so much justice and uprightness, that the rest of the world just can't do without our way of doing things.

I see these pictures and hear the insolence and callousness of these masters of the universe blaming others for the kids they shoot up like they're icons in a video game, and I wonder how long must the world's people endure to be terrorized by this monstrous empire.
