The one who made
the heavens and the earth
has wounded the heartÂ
of many a mourner;
he has put many ruby lips
and perfumed locks
six feet beneath the ground.

Indeed the god of The Book is the killer of romance and poetry. He has “wounded the heart
of many a mourner…”
The mourners obviously came before the murder.
To mourn is to be human. It is a fatal state.
What did they mourn first?
I suggest the notion of god.
I think Bro. Khayyam would agree.
What do you think, Juan?
