Omar Khayyam (42) “No hand would set out to break them”

Posted on 10/11/2012 by Juan Cole

As for the parts of a wineglass
              that have been joined together–
no hand would set out
               to break them apart.
But as for the shapely
hands and feet of a temptress–
    whose grace joins them together?
and whose hatred in the end
                            sunders them?

  • Dean Gerber says:

Sadly, we have the answer to the final question in the cold blooded murder of a fourteen old girl by a Taliban follower and the subsequent defense of that act by one of their leaders.
