  1. According to one source, the cease-fire agreement declared will restrict assassinations and allow greater freedom of movement for Gazans.

A key goal of Hamas at the truce negotiations was to lift the blockade by Israel.

The final tally of casualties on both sides in this conflict are far less than those sustained in Operation Cast Lead.

There were celebrations across Gaza over the truce.

  2. My guess is that USA and Israel went along with an unclear agreement to lift the blockade (and a clear agreement against cross border violence by both sides) IN RETURN for an agreement (maybe a side-agreement) by Egypt not to let major weapons into Gaza. What else did Israel (and USA) get out of the agreement (at the cost of honoring Hamas and Egypt’s Morsi)?
