“A house, swelling, habitation, land, country.” A word which is used in various combinations, e.g.: –
ad-Dar The abode – the city of al-Madinah.
ad-Derain The two abodes – this world and the next.

Daru ‘l-baqd The abode which remaineth – heaven.
