RAVEN. Arabic, guraib غراب
Heb.’oreb. Mentioned once in the Qur’an, Surah v. 34 “Am I too helpless to become like this raven and hide my brother’s shame.” The raven is not lawful food according to the Muslim law. (Durru ‘l-Mukbtar, vol iv. p. 523.)
