But that doesn't matter to the gun nuts. They have their amendment rights & that is more important to them & theirs than a child's right to live.
It doesn't make sense but hey, the Americans aren't the smartest group of people I ever met. Some of those who have continued to fight against some sort of gun control still don't get it & never will.
When some of these idiots were interviewed by Piers Morgan I couldn't believe some of the stuff that came out of their mouths. It was like they had left their brains some where else.
I am sure Harper would like us to go the way of the Americans. He did remove the Long Gun Registry & the NRA is lobbying in Ottawa.
Guns kill people. It is that simple. If there is a gun around & it is fired at some one they have a good chance of dying. If the gun wasn't there the victim might have a better chance of survival because you can out run some one with a knife but you can't out run a bullet.
I don't see anything changing in the U.S.A. even if there a dozen more mass shootings. All they will do is want more guns.
I wonder if the children of the U.S.A. could file a Human Rights complaint with the U.N.
I think the Americans turned to drone warfare because the American general public was getting tired of hearing of the losses of Americans. Drone strikes are easy & done by remote control. Not too much in the way of people are necessary & they get to kill lots & lots of innocent people. However, these innocent people are not seen an innoncent people or even for that matter as people. They aren't reported as such & the drone strikes go on.
Drone strikes provide lots of work, they need to be built, sold, shipped, drone operators, etc. It works for the Americans & that is all their generals care about.
Given the number of innocents killed in the course of the drone strikes I would suggest some one file some murder charges against the American government & the drone operators. They charge soliders with killing "innocent" people on the ground, why not others?
Perhaps some slick american lawyer would like to file civil suits for wrongful death when innocent people are murdered by these drone strikes. I think a few wins & we'd see the end of drone strikes.
If you are american's "friend" then what you do if fine. if not, well its not fine. that is about it. The Americans really haven't figured it out yet. No other country is your friend. Each country, when push comes to shove looks after itself. The U.S.A. might want to do that some time soon, look after itself & its citizens.
The Americans have never figured out that their "friendship" with less than tolerant dictators eventually are overthrow, usually by their own people. These people then become the rulers & are very unhappy with the U.S.A. Had the Americans stayed out of that countries business all would have been fine, the dictator would have been overthrown & the new government wouldn't have detested the U.S.A. The other problem with sending arms, etc. to countries the U.S.A. considers, "friends", is these arms will later be used agains the U.S.A.
The U.S.A. has enough problems of its own at home. i for one would suggest they deal with them first. They have endless poverty, homelessness, hunger, lack of education, lack of medical care, lack of new infrastructure. the list goes on. The Americans could save a fortune just by pulling their military out of all those other countries. They don't need to be the world's police force. Their contribution in WWII was invaluable but that time has come & gone.
these politicians give politics a bad name. They are the american version of the Taliban. Its that simple.
These guys are not just crazy, they are dumb. Where did they take biology or sex education in grade 5? Oh, right they are of the american persuation & they don't like sex education.
Rape has been used as a weapon in wars & women became pregnant. It was the enemies way of disgracing the women & forcing their society to deal with children from another ethic group they were at war with. If Akin & King can't figure that out, they need to get out of politics because to be that dumb is dangerous.
the problem with Romney as president is the rest of those republicans in office and his backers. They have not shown much in the way of social responsibility. They don't even want to pay their fair share of taxes.
The ad maybe offensive to some but it does send a message. Corporations such as Bain Capital do come into a company & one of the things workers loose is their health care plans. If you or your family are unfortunate to have cancer at the time, yes there is a good chance you will die. Without the health insurance how can you afford medical care? From that perspective, Bain Capital & their fellow travels do kill people. When you deny people health care many die as the result, in my books that makes you complecet in their death.
I do not envy the American people if Romney becomes president.
Romney certainly is an idiot. He won't pick up any Jewish voters in Israel. He will most likely put his foot in his mouth as he did in England. Why he wants to caimpaign in Israel is beyond me. Now may be he owes his casino boss some favours, but really that is a bit over the top. Then there is the issue of holding fund raisers inother countries. Next thing you know the guy will want other countries to be able to vote for the american president also. Having caimpaign financing from foreign countries is not good for any country.
It would appear Egyptians may have to start all over again. Leaving the square might not have been such a good idea after all. But then, the people may have felt every one was working in good faith. People who have to give up power rarely operate in good faith, once it goes against them.
If the Muslim Brotherhood does not resort to violence then they will have taken a major step forward. It will clearly present itself to the world as a party which could govern. If the brotherhood continues to operate Eygpt as a secular state, I do not believe people will have much to worry about.
governing Eygpt will be a fine balancing act. The old government members won't be accepted & the army has provided some stability but they can not be the government for the long term. If the only group which can muster a majority, is the Muslim Brotherhood, then democracy has spoken. It will simply be up to the people to ensure the Muslim Brotherhood does not become another form of dictatorship.
The article certainly explains a lot & I found it very informative. It gives another point of view not currently being published by other newspapers.
Iran is going to do what it is going to do. The U.S.A. should forget about trying to force Iran to do what the U.S.A. wants them to do. There are more important things in the world to worry about than does Iran have what it takes to build a bomb. If they really wanted a nuke they could possibly go to a former USSR states & find what they need.
I don't believe Iran will go out & nuke Israel or the U.S.A. They don't have a death wish. They know they would be nuked in response. I'd be more worried about North Korea, who doesn't have much to loose.
Trade between India & Iran makes sense for both countries. Why insist India restrict access to markets for their goods. It is much more enviornmental to ship to Iran than it is across an ocean to north america or Europe.
So far the U.S.A. has made a mess of Iraq. I'd suggest they don't do the same to Iran.
Iran has many problems but then so does the U.S.A. They might want to deal with their own problems first like their poverty, homelessness, deficeit, etc. Although the Americans like to point at the lack of rights for Iranians they should look at some of their own legislation which they have passed in the past few yrs. Their Patriot Act is so over the top, the invasive scans at airports, attempting to control women's bodies, etc.
There is no point in getting their things in a knot when currently Iran is not looking to shot up Israel. When they look like they are about to, then we get it together & shoot first, but until that happens everybody should just go home & clean up their own homes.
But that doesn't matter to the gun nuts. They have their amendment rights & that is more important to them & theirs than a child's right to live.
