Instead of spending millions on ads urging Trump's impeachment, which won't happen as long as the Republicans control both houses of Congress, why don't millionaires like Tom Steyer spend money trying to help disadvantaged minorities overcome discriminatory voter ID laws, by paying for them to obtain their birth certificates and overcoming other financial impediments to voting?
If Mango Mussolini actually does deport 3 million undocumented aliens, perhaps he can convince all those Trump-supporting out-of-work coal miners and factory workers whose jobs have been lost primarily due to automation to move to California so they can pick our fruits and vegetables in miserable conditions and earn incredibly low wages.
I think that Dr. Cole's use of the term "socialist" in reference to the French government is satirical, and is a dig against Republicans who have professed to hate everything French since G. W. Bush invaded Iraq and the French wouldn't jump on the bandwagon. Countless Republicans even criticized John Kerry for being fluent in French (he should have spoken only English, just like Jesus Christ), started calling French fries "freedom fries," and boycotted French's mustard (a totally American product).
John McCain is the U. S. Senate's equivalent of political commentator Bill Kristol--he's never correct about anything and has the memory of a goldfish.
According to Fox News, anyone who can speak a language other than English is suspect and undoubtedly anti-American. (Ignoring the fact that the second-largest holder of News Corp. stock is a Saudi prince.) I remember the sneering remarks made in 2004 about John Kerry being able to speak French. Those at Fox must believe that if English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it should be good enough for the entire world.
The fact that Mitch Daniels was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget for over two years under George W. Bush should have been enough to disqualify him from even being considered as the chief executive at any university. Finding out that he was in favor of banning books makes him an even less-qualified and less-appropriate choice to hold the presidency of a major university.
I am still running into Republicans in the U. S. who claim that both of Obama's wins were the result of electoral fraud by groups such as ACORN (even though ACORN went out of business two years before the last election). Many Republicans still refuse to recognize the legitimacy of Obama's presidency, still claiming that he was born in Kenya, is a secret Soviet agent (disregarding the fact that the USSR imploded over two decades ago), and other such wild conspiracy theories.
On the other hand, I've never met a Republican who thinks that there was anything fraudulent about the 2000 presidential election, where tens of thousands of Floridians were disenfranchised, massive numbers of ballots were thrown out, and the election was finally decided by five people who were appointed to their position by George W. Bush's dad or his dad's former boss.
It's too bad that the press covering George W. Bush's speech at Kansas State University in January 2006 didn't spend more time focusing on his defense of wiretapping. Instead, the majority of the reports were about his bumbling response to a question about whether or not he had seen Brokeback Mountain.
Many joined the military because they believed the Bush administration's fictitious claims about Saddam Hussein having WMDs and thought that Saddam was behind the 9/11/01 attacks. One such soldier was my son's friend, who enlisted so that he could "avenge what Saddam did to us on 9/11." Unfortunately, Thomas was killed by an IED in Tikrit.
Ashcroft continued to be obsessed with breasts even after 9/11/01. In January 2002, the statue of Lady Justice was clothed in drapes fo that Ashroft would not be photographed in front of a semi-clothed statue.
President Reagan didn't resign, and it was obvious that he had Alzheimers during his second term, if not his first. Of course, many will say that Reagan was not an honest man.
I totally agree that the U. S. celebrates militarism without question. One can't go to a football game in my part of the country without being subjected to all kinds of "Support Our Troops" celebrations, ranging from "Soldier Day" at the game to the marching band playing the official army song to military jet flyovers, all accompanied by pervasive flag-waiving. Questioning why the U. S. ever invaded and occupied Iraq or why the U. S. is still in Afghanistan brands one a communist/Muslim/Nazi/atheist hater of the greatest country in the history of the world for now and evermore
It would be nice if even one-tenth of that glorification were given to teachers or social workers.
If Romney exhibits the same amount of tact in Israel as he did in Great Britain, armegeddon might occur. Romney's daily gaffes and insults to the non-rich make Richard Nixon look like a real people person.
I don't think Mitt Romney and his circle have the capacity to be embarrassed (other than if they dropped their crumpets during high tea), so I anticipate they will keep sending forth these rather unsubtle racial dog whistles.

Tea partiers also don't realize that Obama can't be a Marxist and a Nazi at the same time, either.

I'm not surprised that Henry Kissinger is wrong about Libya. He's been wrong about virtually everything since he joined the Nixon administration.
