I lived through that kind of BS when residing in Riyadh, as part of a U.S.Army program for which my husband worked. But we KNEW ahead of time... there is no harm in calling KSA a "police state." Who's allowed to say that about Uncle Sam, and not trigger even further surveillance on one's private life?
just tragic. Why is it that there isn't much we puny little Americans, with hearts in the right places, can do to assist?
My dad was a retired United Methodist pastor and seminary professor, he spent several years near the end of his life residing in the West Bank, in order to stand in solidarity with The Living Stones. But that's extreme. I just wish we could get good reports from the refugee communities about what they need.

Julia
bless their hearts. We must remember that in every nation where we provide aid, (with probable exception of Israel), women have more particular needs than the overall "citizenry". And certainly, if we claim to be a Faith-based nation, human needs rank higher than military and corporate support.

Me, too, Carl
wow, Hazel, you ARE religious about it! 😉
It means a lot to me to be able to support someone who reveals, with such integrity, what all of our society should be wanting to know.

I just have a better feeling about Mohammed Morsi than I have of other national leaders in Middle East.
