AIPAC is real lobby with influence as is OPEC, Oil, Wall Street, Big Pharma, Health Care, Insurance, Real Estate. Is AIPAC more powerful then these interests?
Not even close, EXXON alone with its over $400 billion annual revenue is larger then all Israelis economy with a GDP less then $300 billion. Israel is dwarfed in revenues by all the above mentioned industries.
There is an zealousness on this board to magnify Israel and AIPACs importance and sway over the US foreign interests. Surely this makes one questions what is the root cause of this ?
Pigs will fly before Obama asks for the UN to put sanctions on Israel. However, people like you naively play the anti-semitic card by thinking AIPAC has the ability to determine Presidential outcomes. If they did why is McCain or Clinton not president?
The dollar is not about to collapse and having it weakened is good as it makes American products less expensive to purchase offshore. We are not a federation held together at gun point like the old USSR. Get serious about a Soviet style collapse.
Israel has more companies on the Nasdaq then all of Europe combined. It is not about to collapse and can survive economically at this point without American aid, which I think should be dropped.
Israel has always been under threat of annihilation so a nuclear armed Iran will not alter anything in terms of population.
Russia is a decaying country and Jews are treated for the most part better throughout the world so they are not heading back there.
Most of your post seem like talking points from a Berekley campus lecture but I do agree that peace with the Palestinians is the way to go.
Talk about an intractable situation. The far right is ruining the USA and Israel with their morally bankrupt ideologies. And the far left or whatever Hamas is politically, will be more then happy to step in and lob a few bombs to complicate matters as their charter is the destruction of Israel. The PLA is totally corrupt and not capable of ruling with its current leadership.
I am sick of hearing about this conflict of which each side has equal blame and international community as at fault as well for its meddling, be it the Brits, USA, Russians, Iranians, etc, etc.....
Hogwash....ever hear the saying "Stay close to your friends and closer to your enemies"?
That’s what Saad Hariri’s is doing. Iran had his father assassinated and can turn Hizbollah loose at any moment. He is begging for appeasement regardless of how he really feels. Would you befriend your fathers assassin? I don't think so.
As for Erogdan, per Wikileaks and his actions it is apparent he is a Fundamandilist and can't stand Israel. He, like Ahmajinadad demonizes Israel for political gain of the far right.
Iran is the arguably the most isolated country in world now other then the North Koreans. How can that be a gain ?
One of Egypt's most recent and most popular soap operas was based on "Blood Libels" and the Egyptians can't get enough of it. So following quote, taken from your link should be no surprise to anyone.
"Mahmoud Hanafy, a professor of marine biology at the Suez Canal University, told Ahram Online that it is "sad," that Egyptian national TV helped perpetuate the theory that the shark attacks, which resulted in one death and four serious injuries this week, may have been controlled by Israel."
It is not the view of a small town governor. It is the national view that the government helps shape. The economist rates Egypt 138th out of a possible 167 for being the least free society in the world. Saudi Arabia comes in dead last in this poll.
Peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Not with this regime.
Hamas, whose charter is to destroy Israel
Abbas, whose PHD dissertation denied the Holocaust.
Hamas and the PLO, mortal enemies that assasinate each other.
Likud, always for a greater Israel.
"There is virtually no talk of Israeli colonial settlements on the West Bank, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, the war crimes in Gaza, the attack on the aid flotilla, and Israel’s arsenal of hundreds of nuclear weapons, but there is constant preoccupation with Iran’s uranium enrichment and whether Israel or the United States should attack Iran first".
How observant, this stuff is in the press everyday. Let me give you a clue about Wikileaks. Its about what is not being said publicly for fear of upsetting the street.
Public statements like the above mentioned above are opiates for the masses. It is a known fact that hating Israel gets you votes in the Arab and Muslim world and Useful idiots on the Left will run with it.
Looks like your whole schtick just blew up. From what I read on the Wikileaks Saudia Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and other Arab nations are all beating the drum to bomb IRAN. This is not a NeoCon Israel only cabal. These countries truly fear Iran. What is your spin ? That Israel is still the cause of 80% of USA's problems in the ME and controller of our ME policy? I am sure the above mention countries have a huge pull on Congress.

I look forward to your reply.

How can anyone take sides on this mess?

If that map was 1948 there would also be 150,000 Jews

Hopeless.

Wiki leaks are what the governments want.
Indeed, Iran should be shaking in its boots.
