Strange how 1 million people were brutally murdered by the use of the world's most deadly weapons to prove that democracy is better than dictatorship in Iraq.Yet when another country in the Middle East is clamouring for democracy and that too in the most peaceful and civilized manner US politicians twiddle their thumbs, wriggle their toes while pretending to support the demonstrators although in reality they would love to see this evil dictator hang on.This is the pinnacle of hypocrisy and injustice. Things are becoming to get cleat. The US is strongly influenced by Israel who are 'scared that 'Muslim Brotherhood might become powerful in Egypt and Hamas,Hezbollah may gain further influence.Typical Israel. Cry wolf ,distract the world's attention by its lies, mischief and self pitying.
The US was very 'brave' and adamant when it came to punishing Saddam because he was a dictator although Iraq was the most prosperous nation in the Middle East with the public enjoying the best social system, best health care and the best educational system.Saddam's Iraq is also described as being one where young couples could walk in pairs holding hands something that cannot be imagined today. Iraq today is like a horror movie come to life thanks to American invasion and occupation. The US is also quick to talk about attacking Iran as this according to them is a dictatorship! Mubarak is twice as bad as Saddam was. Yet this great country that preaches democracy and human rights is dragging her legs and playing as usual a double standard strategy. This is shameful as it is disgustingly annoying to any right thinking mind. The dishonesty of US foreign policy is out in the open.
This revolution is a good inspiration for Pakistanis who are in a worst situation even compared to the Tunisians. All the Arab nations should follow now.The student community of the UK too can learn a thing or two from this. There is a saying :'Where there is no submission there can be no authority'. Never give up the fight against injustice.
Lots of interesting comments.Nevertheless let's not forget that violence has always been the chief agenda of US politics whether it be international or local.Gun culture is a fairly important part of history and today it is the chief decider of American politics. In int. politics US policy has always been:'I can shoot you but you dare not even think of shooting me'.It is this policy of the US government that has created hatred among the peoples of the world against the US government although US public is not really disliked. The illegal invasion and destruction of a once powerful ancient civilization like Iraq, the unnecessary bombing and destruction of a people in Afghanistan with the purpose of 'fighting terrorism' is both futile and wrong. In fact this is terrorism. No wonder so many young people have risen up seeking revenge against US bullying tactics and atrocities committed by Nato troops. Was Bush 'mentally unstable' and is Obama with his drone agenda 'mentally imbalanced'?Don't think so. Calculative cold blooded killers? Maybe.
Sept 11 triggered it off they say.But isn't ten years of bombing not enough? How many more are you going to kill. Also a very important point. Sept 11's 'who dunnit' is still to be proved. So is this all really worth it?
How strange. Perpetrators of such shocking violence are described as 'mentally unstable'or 'unbalanced people' hooked on to marijuana and drugs etc while somebody with a Muslim name is immediately accused as a member of Al Qaida or an international terrorist who is out to destroy America just because a small bomb that did not not even explode is found in a car.Isn't this immature ignorance based on a sense of sickening bias? So white murderers are 'mentally unstable' and 'unbalanced' while people with Muslim names who commit the same violence are evil ,dark forces of this world. Its about time citizens of the US took a note of this.
US occupation of Afghanistan is legally and morally wrong. It is only to benefit the warlords namely the Northern Alliance, who are a brutal, corrupt ,greedy people who took advantage of the country after the Soviets were defeated. These people were unpatriotic to Afghanistan and actually worked for the communist government. Unfortunately the US government propped them up against the Taliban who were the real mujahidin and the real patriots. These people once coming to power ravaged their own country, looted its treasures ,raped its women and sent terror into the hearts of all Afghanis. In simple words after the Soviets were gone pandemonium broke loose. But it was the Taliban who brought law and order by putting an end to their atrocities. This was the time the US should have had a dialogue with Taliban. Clinton who was president at the time lost the golden opportunity of history. Instead he tended to ignore a people who brought law and order to chaotic region of the world. Thus the Mujahidin now known as Taliban who were once aided and abetted by the US were left high and dry. They felt orphaned ,humiliated and betrayed. The hate for the US was sown among the Afghanis. Karzai was set up as a puppet so that the US could enter Afghanistan again to occupy it for its highly strategic position. The presence of the US is profiting only the warlords today and not the ordinary afghan. The US see every turbaned pushtun as a taliban which is ignorant and stupid. THe US is bombing and destroying a historical country just like they destroyed Iraq. They have no business in Afghanistan. If they wish to help they should address the grievances of the Afghani public through effective infrastructure, educational establishments, Health Centers clinics, hospitals ,etc. After all the Mujahidin helped the US to stop the Soviets from gaining ground to spread Communism in the West. So the US wont be doing any big favor. They owe it to the Afghan people whom they used to fight their war against the Soviets. Now they are using thr Pakistanis to fight their war against the Pushtuns of Afghanistan. Does this not sound an unreasonable, dishonest opportunistic logic?
Is this the end of the 'Ugly American'?
Well. Let's just concentrate on the Rohingyas for the moment shall we?
Paranoia and ignorance of the inside politics of other countries is the chief cause of today's chaos in the Middle East and the rest of the world.
