Thanks for your input, astras! Does the mass media in Germany regularly cover news stories about immigrant Turks (and their descendants) as crimminals, and, therefore, reinforce commonly held stereotypes? You seem to be arguing that the theme of immigrant integration is code for "the crimminal" Turk?
Dear Professor Cole,
Thank you so very much indeed for all your efforts toward bringing public attention to the devastation in Pakistan! Perhaps you may know, Pakistanis at home and in the diaspora are etremely reluctant to make contributions of funds that may go through discredited and corrupt governmental and non-governmental organizations. However, the desire to help the less-fortunate and overwhelmed victims of the floods is ripe and therefore must be somehow channeled for ultimate social good.
It seems assigning collective guilt to any group has become an acceptable argument in much of today's American society. By that reasoning, for example, placing Roman Catholic institutions (or any Christian church) in the proximity of schools for children should be oposed.
Does anyone know whether U. S. citizens are permitted and able to adopt Syrian orphans and refugee children? Thanks!

I wonder if loudspeakers used for call to prayer might be condemned by fatwas, as they may produce sound greater than 100 decibles?
