The slide area was well known and had been the subject
of an explicit warning by an expert geologist. This was the
sixth landslide over the past decades but far larger
than any previous.
At one time David Broder may have been a respected analyst, but that was some time back. His views have been Neanderthal for quite a while and this latest comment is simply more evidence of that.
