So take Lippmann's definition of an 'expert' -- someone capable of articulating the consensus of people with power. Who's running Israel? Or is Likud in a power struggle with the secular military?
Juan, what to you think about Brookings Institute? That's where this crack-pot gave his war speech. Tex Colson apparently wanted to firebomb it. What's their deal? Are they CIA?
Just so you know Juan -- and fantastic reporting as usual! -- once this article hits the archives, you'll be inundated with sock puppets with names like "NJJE233" praising the MEK and denouncing you as Iranian Intelligence. It's a strange feature of the comment sections of almost every article covering this controversy, and I think it's a CIA contractor practicing some new offensive technology (on the American people).
I haven't been a Mideast watcher for long, but doesn't it seem obvious that actually the US isn't committed to "peace" but instead propping up Israel? Obviously everyone's calling for a peace process with two states, but when the PA actually tries to make it happen the cynical goalposts move again. Perhaps you should be more explicit about it if that's really the case.
Instead they're actively promoting war-mongering.
Juan, this is a victory as far as I'm concerned.
I believe that was the anti-Magnitsky act from a few months back.
Larry Wilkerson has suggested that the NDAA was always more about civil unrest than "terrorism." Any thoughts?
It should increase our sympathy for our victims worldwide, but I assume that line of thought will be systematically ignored in the media.
Actually Russia is surrounded by NATO, you're being a bit glib. Do you have any problems with israel bombing sovereign nations, Mr. Cole?

That fatwa was from 2004, I believe. What's the relevance now?

Juan, do you believe the Alex Jones crowd that this insurgency was largely created by CIA/Mossad?
And what about the reports now that anti-terror troops and a tanker has come to Syria to back al-Asad?

Will this turn into another proxy war between Russia and the US?
Earlier reports talked of a group of drunk soldiers. Juan, please stay on this story, including a review of the local press!
