Greetings, Dr. Cole. Actually, paranoia has its own mental illness diagnosis. Look for Paranoid Personality Disorder in Cluster A. In addition, it is a key trait in Schizophrenia, Paranoid type. Diagnoses of this kind are commonly found along side Narcissist Personality Disorder. In my mind, Paranoid PD makes complete sense. People with PPD suffer an unrelenting mistrust and suspicion of others, even when there is no reason to be suspicious. I think we are witnessing this in our POTUS.
