The sad reality of the Israel/Palestine conflict is that a two state solution is looking less likely. Palestinians want to halt the Israeli settlements, have Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, and the release of all Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jail (including those convicted of acts of terror. Meanwhile, Israelis want sovereignty over Jerusalem, a demilitarized State of Palestine, and the right of return for Palestinian refugees only to Palestine, not Israel. Additionally, recent violent attacks have made it easier to vilify both parties. Yesterday morning, two Palestinians killed four rabbis, one police officer, and injured many other Israelis in a synagogue. Israeli police gunned down the attackers. Violent outbursts from both sides make the countries seem evil when in reality these are the actions of very few people on both sides. Both sides have committed atrocities but overall, the people of both nations deserve peace. #MES20
