After 9/11 everybody is a "terrorist". Noam Chomsky's words a few days after 9/11/01 ring more true everyday. To paraphrase, he said that governments such as Russia, Indonesia and so on will use the term "terrorist" to justify any military action. The above quotes from Hizbullah and Iran above, along with quotes from other countries around the globe, prove Noam's words true over and over again.
Wait...wait...wait...
There was no "transition to elected government"; Salah's vice president was the only candidate after Salah stepped down! THAT is why the Houthis rebelled.
"The S-300s would make it much harder for Israel AND THE UNITED STATES to initiate an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Such an attack on enrichment facilities in Natanz would be horrible in any case, releasing radioactive material into the atmosphere and killing or sickening tens of thousands in Isfahan."
Fixed that for ya,
Why. Why does Saudi Arabia keep throwing its weight around?
I still don't see how Syria did this if the U.N. certified that all of chemicals were destroyed.
Damnit!
Again, there was NO constitutional vote, there was only ONE candidate, Hadi, Salah's former vice president!
My understanding is that Hadi was the only candidate on the ballot. How is that fair?

Such a sad state of affairs....

Thanks for this post. It is a good compliment to the article in the New Zealand web article: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/wanganui-chronicle/opinion/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503423&objectid=11636531
Prof. Cole, have you ever met Prof. Chomsky? I've now read and heard both of you talk highly about the other.
Also, I read an article that suggests Iraq is on the verge of collapse...here is the article:

Do you agree? If possible, could you post a comment on the state of Iraq on the main page? I would love to know your thoughts.

Prof. Cole:
What about the large number of mercenaries that are supposedly still in Iraq? If they are still there will they be leaving soon as well?
