While the article makes many valid points, it seems that David Faris implicitly assumes that Iran's nuclear energy program was actually a weapons program. Whereas the evidence suggests that any weapons related activity ended in 2003 or earlier. To launch a weapons program they would have had to go against the fatwa prohibiting such a development.
Regarding the rights, even today the rights of current Arab citizens are not being respected. They are systematically being discriminated from housing, jobs and education. The Bedouins of Negev Desert are being removed from their townships. If there is apartheid I think it is the Arab rights which are in jeopardy. The onus of ensuring equal rights is on the ruling establishment not on victims!!
Well Prof. Cole, Scott Ritter's article at American Conservative has a different slant as to source of arms for the rebels. According to the article, it would seem that substantial US arms reached the rebels by indirect routes with a lot of nods and winks from US officials!
While ordinary Americans may not approve of firebombing Dresden today, they are quite content about the nuclear bombing of two Japanese cities in WWII. As recent as six years ago when I was discussing the WWII with otherwise reasonable people, they were quite adamant that it was the right decision and it saved the American lives. There was no recognition of the reports that Japan had already signaled willingness to stop war nor was there any remorse at the innocent civilian lives lost in Japan.
Was the Nazi symbol a Swastika? If so it should be noted that the Houston shooter DeSai was probably a Hindu. The Swastika has a long ancient history. For a Hindu it is a symbol of "auspiciousness." So it is likely he used it as a Hindu would understand it.

Bravo! This is a clear eyed, no nonsense description of the situation in Palestine. Well done!

Why is it "Syrian Regime" in one place and "Syrian government" in other place? How does one determine which designation is appropriate?
