Does anyone believe, even for a brief moment, that the Security State, from the NSA down to the local sheriff, will pay any attention to this, and not continue business as usual, as they do now?
When we look at Haiti today, where clothing manufacturers exploit the cheap labor and corrupt the government to keep it cheap, and foreign corporations exploit the resources and products in Central America and similarly corrupt the governments there, obviously with the acquiescence of our State Department, it seems the status quo is by design. Why are CA bananas cheaper in US supermarkets than Washington apples?
Some good may come of this yet. If our guys in Washington could get over the hegemony thing, they might realize that Iran as a strong regional power would be in our interest.

I wish I could believe that there won't be boots on the ground by September. The more it's denied, the more likely it seems. Maybe it's just me.
Did you read the article?
I assume you've read Barbara Tuchman's "March of Folly." If not, hie thee to the nearest library.
