"Syria’s portly Foreign Minister Walid Muallim clearly knows how to chow down while the meal is still hot" may be the single best line I've ever seen written in this blog. Nicely done!
I have to say I don't view it as the Republicans forcing the Administration to do anything. This is a choice Obama and co. are making for whatever reason, but if it is as a political calculation, that is, indeed, wimpy. That the bleating of Republican morons such as Issa and the rest should have any impact on what our embassies and diplomats are doing would be a pretty major fail on the part of the Administration. The type of uninformed critic for whom "Benghazi" is a code word should be told to pound sand by Obama and Kerry.
Importantly, not only will Romney's SCOTUS picks be anti-choice, but be in favor or rolling back any civil rights legislation they can (marriage equality could be snatched away from a probable Court victory) and as pro-corporate advantage as possible. Reason alone to vote for Obama.
Despite Obama's many failings (which are simply writ large the Democratic Party's failings) the point is not to let the insane, raging lunatics back into the government. Elections are just one day, citizenship is 24/7, and these compromised elected officials need to be pressured every single day by all of us who have issues and causes to pursue.
Nicely put. To make matters worse, Paul Ryan is similarly an overindulged adolescent, with his facile Ayn Rand philosophy and elevation as a "serious" budget guy. As Krugman and others have well established by now, Ryan is a fraud. This candidate combo is not only dangerous to the economy, but foreign affairs as well.
Is AIPAC aware of this Diskin fellow? He's clearly anti-Semetic, based on his statements.[/snark] These are important views from prominent Israelis that need more publicity in the US. I would be particularly interested to find a US politician who would have the guts to reference those like Diskin and Dagan, although I will not be holding my breath.

It must be somewhat surreal to be called a traitor by a lying, torture-enabling war criminal like Cheney.

Congratulations on exercising choice. Others may not feel the same way, or give a damn what you think "God" does or does not condone.

It figures you used the French spelling for "socialist." Here in the USA we spell it soshulist.

Incompetence. We do not belong there. Pull out all troops ASAP. That is all.
But Juan, we had a VERY cold winter this year too, so that proves that global warming is a farce.
