I'm only writing about weapons trivia: I served in the Army during Late Vietnam (1969-1972). We trained on M14 rifles and, later, the M16's used in Vietnam. It may have been an anachronism, but the term "locked and loaded" was widely used to indicate that a weapon was ready to fire. Our president is a fool and a knave, but, so far as I know, this particular slang is not in error.
