My only question about this excellent as usual piece- I get the part about Turkey's need for Iranian energy, but isn't the Turkish government, for all its "pro-Palestinian" gesticulating, also champing at the bit for pipeline deals that would bring in Israeli offshore oil/gas from the Tamar, Leviathan, and other fields via Cyprus?
And what happens when the Israelis figure out a way to pilfer deposits that are known to exist off the coast of Lebanon and Gaza? My guess is that the "islamist" govt. in Turkey will have no qualms finding some way of doing business with its zionistisch counterpart.
I feel as though I've heard most if not all of these claims being made on NPR over the last few days....
