The story I read mentioned that this was an upscale live/play/work area across the street from the Army National Headquarters and the Israeli Defense Ministry. That seemed like an odd juxtaposition to me. It also said the Tel Aviv Chief of Police wanted to close that mall. He seemed to be referring to a closing during Ramadan when attacks are more frequent. He was apparently overruled. It doesn't specify by whom but it did include a comment from the mall owner about staying open. This all seems very odd if security is an issue, no?
