"Now that an Al-Qaeda offshoot, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, aka ISIS), is in the vanguard of the insurgency, those who want to roll it back may hope for a new Sunni Awakening movement. That was the U.S.-sponsored effort to arm Sunni tribes to defeat Al-Qaeda during the earlier Sunni insurgency of 2006-07".
Yeah, and they quit because we stopped paying them...
Here's my rather confounded sitrep from this morning
all this mayhem WILL ABSOLUTELY be used to reshuffle the deck
To wit, Syria & Iran are sending military support to the US puppet Iraq government as the US sends troops to set up a ‘Joint Operations Center’ to counteract their own mercenaries while The New York Times says Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army, one of the few 'militas' that COULD 'dent' the ISIS mercs (Kurd Peshmerga is the other) is is accused of 'de-unifying' Shiites in Iraq because they rejected re-insertion of US troops. Meanwhile the Kurdish president has referred to the ISIS intrusion as "...a well-armed rebellion." (believe he's referring to baathist involvement) even as Maliki delivers a "...conciliatory but desperate toned televised address,,," pitching a "unity" government IMMEDIATELY REJECTED with calls for him to step down... I understand as of this morning Iraq's Parliament WILL attempt to form new 'government'
Meanwhile, the warmongers rake in the bucks from Iraq's continuing forced destabilization. Winning IS NOT an option AND HAS NEVER BEEN. There's no money in won wars.

"We are learning that those amenities we took for granted before 2003, you know- the luxuries – electricity, clean water from faucets, walkable streets, safe schools – those are for deserving populations. Those are for people who don’t allow occupiers into their country." ~Riverbend, Girl Blogger of Baghdad in (apparently) Jordan exile after fleeing to Syria with her family six years or seven years ago
I blogged this, as one of many issues, in 2011, in a post titled: Your Infrastructure Will Be Your Undoing. The estimates at that time was a 30% gas loss-to-the-atmosphere between 'regeneration' (re-pressurization etc) stations. Also, as added bonus those regeneration stations will be ubiquitous and as seen with the investigation into the San Bruno 'blowout' , the infrastructure is decrepit by design b/c corruption and the cost-control requisite lax inspection standards... from pipe speccing and manufacture to any given point in it's (as the recent building blow up in NY demonstrates) century or more of usage.
