it appears to me, and has for some time, that the "2 state solution" is dead (entirely due to Israeli settlement action). The only parties that seriously adhere to it are Palestinian groups that have a vested interest in it. It's time to accept the reality: The only Palestinian "state" Israel will accept is one where Palestine has all the sand and Israel has all the water, and Israel already has all the guns. What is needed now is for all parties to recognize these facts on the ground and pressure Israel to become a real democracy that provides real 1st class citizenship to it's de facto Arab majority.
This is a trap Israeli Zionists have willingly placed their own foot in, now all that can or should be done is to allow it to snap shut.
If our current administration were only capable of coherent thought, I'd make some sort of clever partition of Poland analogy. As it is, I don't know what the F is going on in this "shithole" region, and expect our "leaders" don't either...
"affiliation" depends on your definition. It's clear all these groups are, to some extent, in favor of Kurdish "nationalism", whether through autonomous statehood, informal political deal making with the existing regimes, or as part of semi-autonomous recognized regional governments. There is also significant overlap in membership, if it's fair to use that word. Having said that, though, is it fair to say that US based Irish Catholic ethnic organizations were "affiliated" with the IRA during the troubles? There's probably a similar level of communication and coordination.
No one wants to get rid of the 2nd amendment. A well regulated militia is central to our national defense, and has nothing to do with your "right" to buy a semi-automatic rifle at Wal Mart for less than the cost of a HDTV. There may be some good arguments against gun control, but th Constitution is not one of them. Now let's not thread hijack any further.

but surely our Good Friend and NATO ally (tm) Turnkey wouldn't turn on our troops, right? I mean, that would be crazy, wouldn't it? (sarcasm)
