regarding the idea that the US had not carried out aggression toward iraq in the 90's:
as has already been noted, we had pushed through sanctions which accounted for deaths of 100's of thousands of iraqis, the majority being children under the age of 5. and bombings were reported on a weekly basis; these were given "no fly zone" violations as the justification. but most of all, let us not forget what bush senior did in 1990 [under the carter doctrine mandate]. with no direct provocation or serious retaliation, he bombed bagdad for 6 weeks straight! with precision guided missiles ["SMART" bombs], he hit numerous schools, hospitals, water supplies, bridges, bomb shelters, and prisons. these are all in violation of the geneva convention. these are war crimes. this was an attack on innocent civilians. and bush junior has continued in this criminal legacy of murdering thousands of civilians, [in the name of "liberating" them]. mister bush's current "war" [actually a massacre and an occupation] rains down on iraq's population after a decade of devastating lack of food and medicines due to US-generated sanctions. this has been, and is, simply racist genocide... i can not even imagine how the average iraqi feels now.
