  1. “Too True to be Good” as Bernard Shaw observed in his 1931 “political extravaganza.” Cable “news” has successfully ridiculed an audience that exalts in being deceived by the glitzy presentation of the trivial and the meaningful events of our time – while it collects a handsome reward for selling us something we already own.
