JA’FAR جعفر
A son of Abu Talib and a cousin to Muhammad. He was a great friend to the poor, and was called by Muhammad Abu ‘l-Masakin, “the father of the poor.” He fell bravely at the battle of Mu’tah, A.H. 8.
