Continued Attacks on US Troops Wound Iraqis Instead

Guerrillas set off a roadside bomb in Khalidiya on Friday, damaging US military vehicles; no injuries were suffered by our troops. Guerrillas in Baghdad threw a hand grenade at US army vehicles near the al-Karma Hotel, wounding five Iraqis. No US troops were hurt. Guerrillas in Tikrit set off a bomb at a traffic circle, killing two Iraqis. In Kirkuk, two guerrillas accidentally blew themselves up while trying to put in place a roadside bomb. US Forces discovered a large weapons cache at Salman Pak.

Fighting broke out in Modadiyeh (near Baquba) when 70 protesters rallied in the middle of the city in favor of Saddam Hussein.
