Dear Fox Cable News: Muhammad Morsi is not the new Prime Minister of Egypt (I know you don’t really care, just sayin’)

Egypt’s president, Muhammad Morsi, appointed a new prime minister today, Hisham Qandil.

Given that Fox Cable News spends its time falsifying video of president Obama and others, bullying its guests, and generally spewing falsehoods, it is not surprising that they can’t get the most basic facts in the news straight. They are owned by a criminal enterprise (News Corp) founded by the sleaziest press lord since the nineteenth century, Rupert Murdoch. Their colleagues in the UK have just been arrested en masse for hacking into people’s phones.

  1. I’m never sure what to make of stupid mistakes like this one by Fox (as opposed to the uninterrupted of pro-Israel, racist, anti-Arab hate-mongering). Just the other day, NPR referred to Romney’s speech before the “Veterans of Foreign _Affairs_”. Perhaps a more apt name, but is NPR betraying its ignorance or just bad proofreading?

  2. This mistake reminds me of Fox’s proclivity for labeling Democrats as Republicans and vice versa. They really need to hire some intelligent researchers over there, but they seem to be quite pleased with themselves as they are.

  3. “Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government.”
    Thomas Jefferson

Given the number of people who believe they are well-informed because they tune in to Fox News, it is no wonder we have lost control of our government. You cannot defend yourself against the oligarchic government on the one hand when you need both hands to fight ignorance.
