I was unaware of what article VI of the United States constitution said about torture. Yet, Republicans insist on using torture as a method to gather intelligence. In contrast to the common Republican viewpoint on torture, I prefer the advice given by Sun Tzu, in the Art of War, where he stated, "treat the captives well, and care for them. All the soldiers taken must be cared for with magnanimity and sincerity so that they may be used by us." An act of kindness towards the enemy, when the enemy expects nothing in return, could be more effective than torture.
