Nice piece. Very sensible, very useful. One thing that's missing, IMHO, is a more nuanced treatment of non-violence. What about pipeline protests that seek physically to block construction, and that sort of thing? On global warming, much of the coal, oil, and gas simply has to stay in the ground. The owners, many of them, will see attempts to strand these assets as a form of violence; they certainly will propagandize to that effect. It appears the struggle will be vicious. And what about industrial sabotage? This is what put Mandela in jail. One can imagine things spiraling out of control. To prevent this, a hard push to make renewables cheaper (including a carbon tax as well as elimination of fossil fuel subsidies, tax breaks, etc.), and to get the word out to the public that this is so, is perhaps our best hope and the best strategy.
