Zawahiri endorses McCain Plan to Bomb Iran;
McCain seeks Endorsement of Catholic-Haters;
8 Percent of Pakistanis Back McCain
Senator John McCain, who seeks endorsements from haters of Roman Catholics, is alleging that Hamas has "endorsed" Barack Obama. He darkly suggests that this means something.
It is a despicable, dirty campaign trick. Who do you think the Ku Klux Klan will be endorsing? And if the Grand Dragons plump for McCain, does that tell us anything about McCain except that he is pasty faced? You can't logically read off anything at all from an unsolicited endorsement.
Actually it occurred to me to ask who is endorsing McCain in the Muslim world.
Well, it turns out that al-
Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri has declared that he is actually on McCain's side in wanting to destroy Iran. Al-Zawahiri is hurt that McCain keeps confusing hyper-Sunni al-Qaeda with radical Shiism: "Ayman al-Zawahiri said al-Qaeda wants to see the destruction of Iran - a Shiite nation battling the terrorists . . . "The dispute between America and Iran is a genuine struggle, and the possibility of the US striking Iran is real," al-Zawahiri said. . ." Al-Zawahiri hopes that the US struggle with Iran will destroy the latter and weaken the former, putting al-Qaeda in a position to administer the coup de grace.
In essence, al-Zawahiri is endorsing McCain's plan to "bomb, bomb, bomb/ bomb, bomb Iran."
Then, it turns out that 8 percent of Pakistanis support McCain. 30 percent support Hillary Clinton, and she leads in this Muslim country over Obama (13%). But surely it is Pakistani liberals who are favoring Hillary, the sort people who supported Benazir Bhutto.
So which Pakistanis are supporting McCain? Presumably the conservative Muslims who can't accept the leadership of a woman. And wouldn't some of those be, like, part of the so-called 'transcendent challenge'?
But lets consider the people from whom McCain has actively sought an endorsement. Many of them seem to engage in a lot of hate speech against Catholics, Muslims and others.
John McCain's spiritual guides:
John Hagee, whose endorsement John McCain actively sought, compares the Roman Catholic Church to Hitler and depicts it as drinking the blood of the Jews through history:
John McCain praised Rod Parsely as a spiritual guide; he is caught on camera below:
Parseley accuses the federal government of enabling a genocide against African-Americans.

To be fair, Parsley is right about Sanger's racist bent in that clip.
Eugenics was a huge factor in getting abortion off the ground in the states.
He's still a nutjob about everything else, though.
Was it absolutely necessary to desecrate such gorgeous sacred music by using it like this? Couldn't they just use scary techno like everyone else?
Sadly, a lot of what Hagee says about the Roman church has merit. It's just that he'd be ten times worse if he were on top. One more reason to hope McCain doesn't win.
During decades of proxy wars, the US has constantly had to rely on unsavory partners, and often the tradeoff has been to allow or enable drug trafficking by those partners. When you add the "War on Drugs" to that, the end result is effectively a policy of ethnic cleansing, directed against black people.
Accidental? Collateral damage? I doubt it. Was redlining accidental? Do ghettoization and ethnic cleansing go hand in hand like peanut butter and chocolate?
What a surprise! Dr. Zawáhirí is only expressing mainstream moderate Arab opinion. D. Ignatius assures us this morning that everybody who is anybody east of Suez wants the militant GOP to Bomb, bomb, bomb / Bomb, bomb Iran:
The risk of a U.S.-Iranian confrontation is growing in part because Saudi Arabia and other U.S. allies in the Middle East are so eager for it. "Behind closed doors, we are praying that the Iranians will make a mistake so that you will have a reason to attack," one Saudi told me this week. Another prominent Arab official said he hopes the U.S. will strike Iranian training camps just over the border from Iraq.
Happy days.
WOW!
Why hasn't there been an across the board revelation of these truly monstrous cults by the MSM?
Why hasn't McCain... what's the word... denounced! these people?!
Has Hillary Clinton denounced them?!!
Is she "soft" on hate cults?!!!
Is McCain?!!!! He looks soft!!!!!
Let's see these guys on TV 24/7, sliced and diced into their spiciest, most hateful configuration!!!!!!
I can "wish" for this because... I don't own a TV :)
If you "put your haaaands on the radio!", I mean TV, and feel the god's hate coursing through your fingers, your hands, your arms, approaching your trembling heart...
Maybe, scalded, you'll be able to kick this truly loathsome, demonic device out of your house and out of your life.
And See The Light!
And Stop Voting Duopoly!!
And Help Save The World!!!
Broadcasting Legend Bill Moyers...
AMY GOODMAN: This is a moment, on a night like this, that everyone is watching. They want to see, you know, who’s won. But for those many, many hours, it’s only about the horse race. I don’t think I heard the word “war” once.
BILL MOYERS: Well, no... All bets are off now, because... our politics can create problems our policies can then not solve. Start a war, can’t finish it. Spend $2 trillion on healthcare, but can’t fix it. Infrastructure crumbling, highways full of potholes, can’t do anything about it.
These fundamental structural issues of American democracy are not being addressed by this campaign... They are so appealing to the particular interest of people, of groups, that they cannot take on — they’re not taking on the large issue...But neither one of them seem to me — and nor does John McCain — none of these three seem to me to be grasping what’s fundamentally at stake in this country, which is a system that is now dysfunctional. And so many powerful interests have a stake in maintaining the dysfunction that it’s almost impossible to change it.
The key word there is "almost". Almost only counts in horseshoes.
There's a tree in front of my house that is surrounded, right up to its trunk, in concrete. And it has almost nowhere to go, to grow. Almost nowhere. But you can see the cracks in the concrete. You can almost watch them opening up after a rain.
Gravel/McKinney/Nader. The cracks are widening as the idiotic "politics" continues to fall "from the heavens", watering our profound, deep-rooted disgust.
As we turn off our TVs and their incessant buzz of disinformation and just say "no" to the continued dominance of the corporate-media fortune tellers, and instead take our future into our own hands, you can see and hear the concrete cracking and opening all around us.
"Senator John McCain, who seeks endorsements from haters of Roman Catholics, is alleging that Hamas has "endorsed" Barack Obama. He darkly suggests that this means something."
Well, former President Cater appeared on the Tonight show last night and allowed that:
1) His four children and eleven grandchildren all support Obama though he, himself, is uncommitted until after all primaries, and
2) Hamas was elected to power through a process the U.S endorsed until it became clear the winner was not Fatah.
From this I draw two conclusions [tongue in cheek mode on]:
1) There is something darkly wrong with former Presidents' offspring excepting, of course, Neal and W. Bush.
2) McCain supports the electoral process if and only if it goes his way.
Methinks there is something darkly "right" about McCain.
The amazing thing is that almost seven years after 9/11 al-Zawahiri is able to stay caught up on John McCain's confusions concerning the muslim world. Instead of waging war in Iraq, perhaps we should be going after the real bad guys.
@John Francis Lee
I beg to disagree with your post. Almost does not _only_ count in horseshoes, it also counts with hand grenades.
;)
"...alleging that Hamas has "endorsed" Barack Obama. He darkly suggests that this means something.
It is a despicable, dirty campaign trick. Who do you think the Ku Klux Klan will be endorsing?"
Are you actually drawing a comparison between Hamas and the Klan?! I'm sure Bush and Olmert would be proud of your hyperbole.
ref : “Al-Zawahiri hopes that the US struggle with Iran will destroy the latter and weaken the former, putting al-Qaeda in a position to administer the coup de grace...”
"al-Qaeda" are an interesting example of insurrectionary anarchism.
Whatever conceit their "anti- infidel occupation" casus belli was, an effective catalyst of geopolitical violence they have so far been. After striking the World Trade Center in New York City, al-Qaeda succeeded in causing AngloAmerican -v- Muslim ‘global war’ apparent in the Middle East. After striking the al-Askari Mosque golden dome, al-Qaeda succeeded in causing Sunni -v- Shi'ite ‘civil war’ apparent in Iraq.
When asked, "what was the biggest Bush mistake re: Osama bin Laden?" Steve Coll answered: “Giving Osama the narrative of total ‘global war’ [apparent] that Osama wanted.” fwiw, in my opinion this is an essential, elegant observation of truth; an illusionless history writ.
imho, the biggest mistake that we, (as well as other players in the Middle East) are now making is: “Giving Sunni and Shi'ite peoples the narrative of Muslim ‘civil war’, apparent : that al-Qaeda wanted.”
