Fort Bragg, NC - A 27-year-old paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne died of non-combat related injuries [NOTE: Often code for suicide] in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Tuesday, the U.S. Army reported.
Capt. James E. Chaffin, of West Columbia, S.C., was a fire support officer with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Abn. Div., according to the Army.
