When a force of evil takes root for ANY reason, nationalism, economics, or Phobias, logic leaves the room, reason resigns, and all arguments fall on deaf ears. You think people like Beck and Maher don't know? KKK didn't know, Zionists don't know.....? Crusaders didn't know?
The only thing to be done now is wait for the pendulum to swing by universal laws, exhaustion of the fire of hate, and the tenacity of the Truth, and, of course, Time for healing the gutted souls.
As an Arab national I am impressed and appreciative to see a member of the "establishment" speaks what is on the people's mind. In itself, a good sign of better days to come. Governance, however, is too big and abstract to make it actionable. As long as rulers have their own best interest as priority and their people are no more than subjects and a burden to govern and deal with, nothing will change. Tyranny is the source of all evil in the Arab world. It is the mother of corruption, despotism, and nepotism, that drains resources and drives out brain power away. The hope that divesting from oil to industry is a pipe dream that is likely to wipe out all funds in black holes of investment. Why? Because industrialization needs culture, work ethics, personal accountability, and transparency. These don't just mushroom in the dark fed by manure, they take changes at the root cause of misery: Tyranny. No wonder, a man like Thomas Jefferson swore "upon the altar of God against every form of tyranny over the mind of man!"
