I know Michigan is a hunt-obsessed State, but even there I doubt the average deer hunter would think it sporting to take down his prey with an assault weapon.

What I don't get is why Iran doesn't just renounce the anti-proliferation treaty as something it signed under the regime of a US puppet, namely the Shah. I am not an international law expert, so I ask Professor Cole, why could Iran not do this?

Since Israel has refused to sign the treaty and by all accounts has many nukes, it is hard to see why Irancould not take a similar stance. From the Iranian public relations perspective this would also draw attention to Israel's refusal to sign, which I doubt many Americans are even aware of.

Ron Paul is weird but he mentioned one or two debates ago that of some 200 nations in the world the US has troops stationed in 150 of them. Can anyone verify that amazing statistic?

My guess is that since Iraq is practically a satellite of Iran its leaders would give the same answer to this question.

My impression is that Iraq is rapidly becoming a vassal of Iran. Which means that the war was probably the biggest military blunder since Gallipoli.
