Just as you asked the author "what is your solution" I feel I must ask you "who would be an acceptable broker?" You reject the UN out of hand, and I understand that in the recent past it has seemed to look only at the problem from the side of the Palestinians. Is it the Egyptians? They have negotiated a cease fire, but there is open hostility between the Palestinians and the Egyptians. I don't know the answer.
