When i was reading this guest column, I got the feeling that its full of subtle bias toward Israel and contempt toward the Palestinians.
It gives me the expression that Helman thinks the Palestinian bid to get into UN is like children trying to get into club for adults.
I think this is the first guest column that is not worthy being here on this site.
I think the British and the France came to the conclusion that some times its beneficial to be on the right side of history even if it will cost them in the short run.
It is just matter of when not if when the Arabs break of their chains and those nations that the Arab public will feel was on their side in the struggle will be rewarded one way or another.
I have always felt strange how openly and actively the Germans worked against the British/France with their push for the Libyan intervention.
Could it be that the reason is that when France/British negotiated with US they said that the EU will pay the war bill ?
"Why is she behaving in this erratic way?" You ask.
I believe that the White House is feeling it is running out of time regarding their goals for Pakistan/Afghanistan.
I think Clinton is trying to be politically 'creative' and is willing to take risks to push thing 'forward'.
It may look like she is behaving erratically to us but we don't know what is happening behind closed doors and in private conversations.
To me this is all about Iran.
It is said that US is out of options regarding Iran at this time.
I believe that the White House wants to create new options in 2011/2012, and are now pushing Pakistan/Afghanistan with all their political might into place for that to happen.
