Anyway, the travesty of the Tamir Rice killing and all the other murders of unarmed black men by police are completely different from what is going on here. While my first thought on this Oregon standoff was "bring on the air strikes", I'm glad that cooler heads have prevailed.
OTOH, I'd like to see some action. There is a lot that could be done to make life more difficult for these guys without invading their compound.
1. If a group of armed black or Muslim protesters occupied an far out of the way building without taking hostages or harming anyone, I think the federal response would be very similar. If these guys had killed a half-dozen people, taken some hostages and were in the middle of a metropolitan area, the Federal response would have been quite different.
2. I'd like to see a group of black men, or Muslims or gay men take up arms and journey out to Oregon just to see what the response would be.
