Palin Laughs at Cancer-Surviving Senator being called a "Cancer";
Green: Palin 'Not Qualified to be Governor'

She could have insisted these male shock jocks be civil or defended another woman politician, Lyda Green, from being dismissed with an expletive.

GOP VP pick Sarah Palin laughs at cancer surviving senator being called a "bitch"

The Republican head of the Alaskan Senate, Green reacted this way to John McCain picking Palin as his running mate:

' State Senate President Lyda Green said she thought it was a joke when someone called her at 6 a.m. to give her the news. "She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?" Green, who has feuded with Palin repeatedly over the past two years, brought up the big oil tax increase Palin pushed through last year. She also pointed to the award of a $500 million state subsidy to a Canadian firm to pursue a natural gas pipeline that is far from guaranteed.'

But then Palin's running mate said "how do we beat the bitch?" was a "good question" and laughed when some guy said the same question pertained to his own wife.

I think the "bitch" in the clip is a reference to HRC.

Maybe putting Palin on the ticket will cause a "religious conservative" revolt against the GOP - although the opposite is intended.

Its hard for me to imagine that the RC's are so homogeneous and narrow minded that all they care about are the religious convictions of the country's leaders. They don't care about war, the economy, global warming, energy independence, government integrity?

In affect the Rovian leadership of the GOP is casting the RC's into the same mold as the Islamic fundamentalists they love to hate. The leadership hopes when the RC's get in the voting booth, the only thing on their mind will be making abortions illegal (and maybe exposing the evolution conspiracy).

I think most RC's understand that their religious convictions are just that, and not the raison d'etre for civilization.

Palin is a distraction from the dismal state of our economy and our failed foreign policy.

Now it's come out that Palin's daughter is a baby mama.

McCain is using the Hurricane Gustav to show his compassion. If he was so compassionate about the people in New Orleans, why didn't he given some of his family millions to help the Katrina victims.

It's OK by me if you don't have lots of experience with political office. What is troubling, is that for a VP, who needs to speak and negotiate with the congressional committees, she is not experienced.

In fact, if she were on the lead of the ticket, Sen. McCain may work better explaining her/his views and have him make the deals that need to be made with his former cohorts.

This would be the strength that Sen. Bidin brings, even if he is a bit of a blow-hard. He has the experience, while Sen. Obama has the speech.

But what it comes down to is who would you rather listen to for the next 4-8 years? Their policies are not so different (because we Americans are not so different) but both will have to negotiate with bills, not bombs.

Thank God we live in a society that does not blow up those who we disagree with. I am proud of our country for keeping this election safe for every man, woman and child.

Thank you, please write your congress rep and vote on your local issues every chance you get.
