It is hard not to see the violent out-of-control nature of the U.S. destroying us internally and destroying the world externally. It's more complex than this, but sometimes the simple view has truth.
I agree! There is work on this for African "primitivism" but I don't think there are many critics who discuss the Sufi roots of Matisse. I love Matisse!
