You mean, like, you won't vote for an ignorant, debauched, anti-intellectual candidate for President. But, clearly, an ignorant, debauched, anti-intellectual can be President--to our shame and sorrow.
Prof. Cole--I like what you have to say, but this is the most overly optimistic pollyanna-ish think I've ever read from you. Yes, it could all work out if all the disparate, antagonistic temporary allies somehow continue to function together. Sunnis and Shias in Iraq--sure; Kurds and Iraqis--sure; Turks and Kurds--sure; Turks and Syrians--sure; Syrians and Kurds--sure. And all of them with the US--sure; and everybody with Israel--sure. Nope. This temporary fortuitous coalition is not gonna defeat DAESH. What could? I don't know.
Israel faces no loss and no disincentive. The US Congress will simply pass "supplemental" funds to make up any loss and will create tax incentives to visit Israel. The President--whoever he may then be--will sign the bill.
Jeez, are we reading the same graphs? White aggregate income has nearly tripled, but black aggregate income has more nearly quintupled (multiplied by 5). The aggregate income gap in 1984 was black aggregate income at 6.4% of white aggregate income while in 2009 the gap was black aggregate income at 10.75% of aggregate white income. That's what the figures really say. The "gap" has narrowed, not widened. Fred Slimp
Why do you expect any public discussion. The American public doesn't give a shit ... Or enjoys the electronic "war games" aspect.

Dear Prof. Cole--It's "shrinking violets," not "shrinking lillies." Never heard of "shrinking lillies." I'm sure Islamic women are neither.
