Ahl Al-Bayt

Ahl Al-Bayt أهل البيت.
“The people of the house.” A term used in the Qur’an at several points throughout. Earlier on it references the household of Abraham, and later is used as a reference to Muhammad’s household.

In Surah 33:Verse 33, which says, “God simply wishes to take the pollution from you, O people of the house and to purify you thoroughly” Some scholars argue that the “people of the house” is used to represent the entire Islamic community.
