SA’IR. سعير
“A flaming fire.” The special place of torment appointed for the Sabeans. (See aI-Baghawi’s Commentary on the Qur’an) It. occurs sixteen times in the Qur’an (Surah iv. 11, and fifteen other places), where it does not seem to be applied to any special class.
