No disagreement. Does another country or coalition of countries has the right to "deny" that right of existence (temporary as it may be). Back pedal to 1948 and what/who. Look, it is Israel that ascertained their right and fought... If others deny it, they will, Israel, I hope, will keep ascertaining it. Will it be "eternal", even long? Silly. Will they fight, defend? I hope so. I admire them.
Your paragraph about the start of the many wars is entirely accurate; I question your definition and intent when you write, “if you define it as who fired the first shot”. Israel did fire such and was the “aggressor”. It is disingenuous because attack on multiple fronts by superior forces was imminent; Israel fragmented enemy plans and, in most cases, did neutralize/delay some countries, particularly Syria.
The freedom of discourse in Israel is unmatched; that alone cancels many other points. There is extremism, as silly and offensive as extremism anywhere. A Key, very important, impossible to ignore point is that many Arab countries deny the right of Israel to exist. Moreover, it does exist; follow this to “it must be wiped out”.
Iran is not full of howling maniacs, many Iranians are extremely civilized, many civilized Iranians are exiles; they have their own problems as to race (Persian/Arab) and of course, in terms of extremism elsewhere, Caucasian is Iranian. We (USA) have a lot of responsibility for the Shah; the “revolution” and whatever extremism resulted. Go apologize and fix.
Why write this? He does not lie about anything else, right? writing about him reminds me he exists and talks somewhere. I read this site to avoid such bad memories. The article should be deleted because nobody will believe he lies if they watch his program. I also do not want to see pictures, please.
I recall his brother George made similar gaffes, including confusing Iraq with Iran. It does not matter how wrong they are, there is a truly enormous pressure of extremist media and moral thematic societies that continually reinforces these messages or variations thereof. The moral thematic societies in particular create a degree of enthusiasm and voter participation that can not be counteracted by reasonable political commentary or even news. While articles such as this one are excellent they will never be read by anybody that avidly listens to the other extreme. Political discourse has ended. If you think Jeb Bush is not telling the truth as he thinks it is, I believe you are not correct. Even when arguments and facts change from moment to moment, you are not correct. They are true to him. I still visit places where they display photographs of the Iraqi nuclear weapons we "captured".
True "we" are not in control of anything. Mind that all these agencies, groups, companies, contractors, etc. are exactly as confused and at cross-purposes. If we do not have a clear interest and understanding of capabilities we just have fun blowing things up and looking at light displays as symbols of our power to control and influence. Realities are that even out military is in the hands of private contractors, police, prisons and even traffic tickets work the same way. There is no one that is going to legislate, spy or organize. There is no "shadow government" except maybe some fast food companies.
Crusades perhaps a stretch; Islam had equivalent “Jihads” at the time (notably in Spain). Killing others for strange reasons is a pastime that unfortunately has not ended with the 19th, the 20th or the 21st centuries. A “Crusade”, for historical accuracy was just a Papal declaration of same, it included complete indulgence and keeping all the loot, slaves etc. found. Many bloody crusades, such as the one declared by Pope Innocent III against the Albigenses (Cathars) in France did not include muslims, it was used to murder some fairly inoffensive people considered “heretics”. “Kill them all, God will know his own” (Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius) has followed Simon de Montfort throughout the ages; in fairness, these words were of some Abbott when discovered that Catholics and Albigenses were a mixed population in the town of Beziers. Several crusades against other Catholics (Venice, Constantinople, etc.) also took place for political or economic reasons. I think the idea of this comment is something like “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her”; Ah!
Now, if we could very quietly and without nonsense eliminate ALL those people that are raping and murdering for whatever reason they have, let us do it.

I meant to add that the USA aided ad abetted the Hussein side of the Iraq/Iran war. Please add this to the apologize and fix.

A precise date would be most helpful
