  • Friedman: Does Iran's Quds Force really Control four Countries and is Israel-Iran War Near?

A combined assault by the U.S. and Israeli forces against Iran's nuclear facilities would not happen without a sizeable Russian response on behalf of Iran, right? And, Israel by itself, is still not capable of carrying out such an assault, no matter how complicated Netanyahu's legal situation becomes.

The proof of the pudding will be whether or not Jabba pulls whatever U.S. missiles, removes them from Russia's border - no matter how our NATO partners feel about it.

Look up people! It's morning again in America! For a new era dawns: with a Newt of gangrene, an Alligator of Adelson, the allegiance of a Mudpuppy of Putin and a Jabba of Trump.

EXCUUUSE ME! As a long time member of VVAW I kept a candle for years following his April '71 Foreign Relations Committee appearance. But he went and blew it big time in the face of the Swiftboat onslaught after the '04 convention. If that hadn't been bad enough, he then had a presser at the Grand Canyon and announced that he would probably have invaded Iraq as well, if it had been up to him. That's when he became Herr Hairy Kerry to me, just another double talking pol.

I’ve forgotten the make and the color of the limosine at the intersection of South Rossmore Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard one evening so many years ago in L.A. The west entrance to Fremont Place intersects with the south side of Wilshire about thirty feet east of the Rossmore intersection. The license plate on the limo stated CHAMP. I was driving two cars behind and the light turned green. The lone occupant behind the wheel two cars ahead of me angled across the intersection, out and across both east bound lanes of Wilshire so as to enter Fremont Place. The driver of the car immediately in front of me was in a hurry, attempted to make a wide turn and put pedal to the metal and play Road Runner, race around and pass by in the slow lane. She got herself blocked by the fancy car . Then she made the mistake of honking her horn at its driver who immediately hit the brakes, stopped all traffic, put his hand on the back of the front seat, slowly turned his head back to look out through his rear window and glared. He sat and stared at her for about ten seconds, long enough for her to realize that she had annoyed Muhammad Ali.

  • Are Sanders' Criticisms of Israeli Occupation Policies unprecedented in a Presidential Campaign?

If Netanyahu should follow Moshe Dayan's footsteps and order his air force to attack a U.S. naval vessel in the Mediterranean thus killing U.S. sailors, I'm sure that Hillary Clinton would make every excuse possible for not holding Israel or its PM responsible (evidenced by her prostituting herself before the recent AIPAC convention).

One imagines that if he were POTUS, Bernie Sanders would issue a direct order to the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy to blow Netanyahu to smithereens, order the Israeli ambassador to get his butt out of Washington and close our embassy in Tel Aviv.

Whatever we're doing in Iraq and Afghanistan has nothing to do with 'pretenses', Andrew! And whatever degree that administration personnel in the field and in D.C. see things as they are doesn't have much to do with it either. Sorry to say, but the situation is just like LBJ and Vietnam; Lyndon Baines Obama has got to position himself just to protect his flank. Every move they make has to do with internal American politics. He's long since squandered whatever credibility he began with. He's a political operator and nothing more.
