Iran's birth rate has plummeted more than Turkey's due to rigorous state sponsored family planning:
"Iran is believed to be the only country in the world where engaged couples cannot get a marriage licence unless they show that they have attended contraception classes."
Persian poets are at the forefront of modern poetry, with their "white-poetry" style (sher-e-sepid).

Where is the real bazaar?
I want to buy an eyeful of kindness.
I want to dress my soul in hyperbole.
There's a merchant who brings me
a whole spectrum of leaping colour
from the city of desires.
But here at the bazaar at Khojand,
faces are sour, talk is hot
and I long for the cool sweets of Tabriz.
Where is the real bazaar?
The flute-player tells me:
come with your ears used to insults,
and listen to the light recite a prayer to the dark.
Open your eyes used to pale shame
and see the beauty of Truth.
Where is the real bazaar?
The flute-player is there
calling my heart towards his hat
full of old change, but not a single pearl,
and since I am the jewel in the teardrop
I must go.
US troops in Iraq do serve as a deterrent capability in that they are sitting ducks for Iranian missiles in the event of a Israel/US attack on Iran 🙂
"Saif al Islam, now says he will ally with Libya’s Muslim fundamentalists in order to stay in power"
He is saying that factions of the rebels are fundamentalist Muslims while others a liberal, and he is attempting to align with the fundamentalists rebels against the liberals.
It is not at all certain that a western-style democracy will flourish once Qadaffi is gone.
Its seem more likely that years of war and instability will set Libya back further than would a stable, slowly reforming Qadaffi regime with foreign investment flowing.
The real threat to Israel is its demographics and Iran can make it so that most Israelis would prefer to live somewhere else.
"We will not let ourselves be distracted and lose our way just because a thief has thrown a stone at our house and run away" - Ayatollah Khomeini
The Iranian response is likely to be more subtle but effective in the long term.

Wine can be used a meditation tool by contemplatives.
Shiraz is popular class of wine named after the city of Shiraz, Iran.
All those military bases are in vain.
All those military bases and yet it was Iran who came out the winner in Iraq.
The Americans can't do a damn thing:)

As Khayyam wrote:
"The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on.
Nor all your piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line.
Nor all your tears wash out a word of it"
Even when attacked with WMDs by Iraq, Iran did not retaliate with its own chemical weapons.
So what use would nuclear weapons be if they refuse to even use chemical weapons ?

Take your Batteleships out of Persian gulf, and stop threatening to bomb countries while you are at it.
Compare what Egyptians and Tunisians have accomplished themselves to what Western military intervention has accomplished in Iraq, and Afghanistan.
At best, the west will delegitimize the Libyan rebellion and create a Libyan Hamid Karzai!

All efforts at meddling in other countries are in vain.
They only result in unintended consequences.
At this point, we just need all the Libyan oil back on the market.
There's no WMDs and no Bin Laden - so now what's the excuse?
This is a valuable work. Thanks!
Gas is cheaper than water in Iran, thanks to ridiculous subsidies it can't afford.
Politically, it is extremely unpopular to reduce subsidies, so the US is doing Iran a great service in forcing domestic gas prices up.
The Gas sanctions would be greatly beneficial to the people and government of Iran.
